Beautiful Music!

My older son had this playing on his PC the other day and I was mesmerized! He was getting ready for work and had this on. My younger son really likes it too. I think its great that my sons have opened themselves up to listen and enjoy different types of music. Listening to music has always been extremely important to me. It inspires me when I create. It can help put me in just the right mood!

This sounded much better on my son's PC! He has a very nice sound card and speakers.....I don't!

I sanded the door on the back side of the garage yesterday. My husband had me sand it forever with an electrical hand sander! I masked off the window and was able to get one side primed yesterday. In about an hour, I will add the primer coat to the second side. My back hurts from standing over that door! I thought it looked nicely sanded after five minutes! My husband didn't and I ended up sanding for about 30 minutes a side! I am a perfectionist when it comes to my jewelry but he's The Man when it comes to painting/wood working so I grumbled and completed the task to his standards. I'm sure I will feel better much better when the door is completed and it looks good, and I mean good!

Sunflowers and Photoshop Elements

The first picture is what I used to create the second picture in Photoshop Elements. I try to teach myself something new when I have a few minutes.

Landon starts school tomorrow. He will be a sophomore. Time really flew by this Summer! It's going to get to the mid 80's today....to hot! Tomorrow, we are expecting rain and minutely cooler temperatures.

Life Scout!

-••-:¦:-••-:¦:-••-:¦:-••-:¦:-••-:¦:-••-

Last night, Landon officially became a Life Boy Scout! We are so proud of him! Now he can think about what he would like to do for his Eagle project. His project will teach him how to effectively be a leader and coordinate a project from start to finish and give something back to the community. This picture was taken of him with his dad right before he left for Summer camp. My husband has on his "paint shirt"!

Monday and Sunflowers on the Mind!

The bees seem to love my sunflowers as much as I do! I am definitely going to collect the seeds from these plants for next year. Even though the flowers weren't as big as what we planted last year, I like them better as there were so many blooms. I quite counting at 40! My sons also like to eat sunflower seeds after they bake and salt them!

Listed these saphiret glass earrings in my shop.

Mo-Jo and Jazzy hanging out in the back yard.

Mo-Jo, Sammie, Jazzy

Sammie came to stay with us last Saturday. My husband's sister lost her job and her rental and Sammie needed a place to stay until Jo can get back on her feet. Who best to take care of her? Mo-Jo really likes her but Jazzy is a bit possessive. We are going to have to work on that! Sammie is seven years old.

Just a few recent pics of Mo-Jo. He's not moving, so they are in focus! I really want to get some good actions shots of him. Time permitting, I will work on that. He is such a powerful and graceful jumper. He makes it look so effortless!

Pick up Schedule, Back to School!

Well, Landon and I got up early today and picked up his schedule. It should be an interesting year for him. In addition to his core classes, he will be taking ASL 2, Digital Photography, and an IT computer course. I think I can help him out with that digital class! Classes start next Thursday. It is raining lightly right now and we can use the rain!

I just listed this beautiful necklace in my shop..................

Action Photography

I took these shots of Mo-Jo and my husband the weekend before last. I need to work on my action shots! From what I have read to stop the action these are some settings:
ISO: 400 F Stop: 6.3 Shutter: 1/2500 or
ISO: 200 F Stop: 6.3 Shutter: 1/1250

I think I tried these settings when the tree was going down and they looked too dark? I will have to work on this when I have some time. Today was eye glass appointments and a boy scout picnic so busy, busy!

Now You See It, Now You Don't, Unexpected Death of a City Tree Part 3

The first picture is what it looked like after the contractors removed the two cement sections that the tree and raised up due to its roots. It was decided that it was a trip hazard. The horticulturist came out and they severed the root where it would have to be removed for the new sidewalk. Since the root was so big, it was decided that the tree would not survive this and a decision was made to remove the tree. I will truly miss it!

Now You See It, Now You Don't....Unexpected Death of a City Tree - Part 1

Before

In compliance with the City of Westerville's Sidewalk Program, our sidewalk needed repair due to the roots of an approximately 36 year old locust tree. We knew that our sidewalk was to be repaired but just found out yesterday that the tree was marked for removal. I immediately called the city and found out that a horticulturalist would be out to see if the tree could be saved. It was decided that due to the depth and size of the root that had to be cut, it could not be saved. I took pictures before, during, and after. We are so very said to see this tree go. I will post more pictures tomorrow. Too sad.....

House Painting Continues

This is the upper front of the house where my husband is working now. This was taken on Tuesday. It looks different today as he took the whole 4' wood siding section down that is on the right. It had to be replaced. It took a few cuts to get it right! Landon was out helping him all day long! I helped put a coat of primer on before the new piece was put in place. Most of the window trim is back on and some trim pieces have to be put on in the upper right corner. I think most of the old caulking has also been removed so this section is just about ready to be painted.

Easy on, easy off vintage clamper bracelet listed today.

Ominous Sky

-:¦:-•:*'""*:•.-:¦:-•*'""*•-:¦:-•:*'''''*:•-:¦:-

Last night around 8:00 p.m. the wind picked up furiously and the sky was filled with some very fast moving and ominous clouds. I ran inside and grabbed my camera and clicked away! A storm threatened, but by the time I was done, the wind and died down and we never did get any rain.
