Days Gone By....Playing Dress Up!

This photo was taken years ago of me and my husband. We were walking the shopping mall one evening and came across a photographer with a booth for pictures. We got to play dress up! Here we are in all of our vintage finery! That is our real hair! I have another picture that was taken at the same time where my husband had a different hat. I can't seem to find it? I liked that one better. Both pictures have faded somewhat. I did a little touch up on this one in Picasa 3. This was a really fun thing to do. Has anyone else had their picture taken like this?

Walking The Dogs

Walking Mo-Jo (on my right) and Jazzy (on my left) is something that I do pretty much every day unless it is icy out. German shepherds need to be walked every day and require lots of attention. Giving them attention is not hard to do at all as they follow me around everywhere I go. While everyone is off to work or school, I am pretty much there at home every day working on my jewelry unless I am out running errands. Mo-Jo loves playing ball and chasing the Frisbee. Jazzy likes to catch the balls that bounce. They are an incredible blessing and an absolute joy to have around.

Redid my Pictures for White Wedding

I wasn't happy with the pictures that I did of this necklace and earrings. White opal glass is hard to photograph. I don't like using black as the background so I used solid colors. To give an idea of this necklace on flesh tones, I used my Scarlet O'Beara as my model. My husband was right in telling me that I should never have used a white back ground. Everyone thinks that this set is so beautiful here at my house. I'm still not 100% happy with the pics but they do look better.

You can see my previous pictures on my 2/16/2009 blog post.

Blooms and Love Birds - Brass Filigree Wrapped Hand Painted Porcelain Floral Necklace

♥Blooms and Love Birds♥

This is a beautiful wrapped porcelain necklace with repousse clasp. The hand painted porcelain piece was once part of a magnificent watch (nonworking). It is slightly convex and unique. At this time, I have a listing for a pair of lever back earrings for pierced ears that coordinate with this necklace. This brass is nickel and lead free.

On a personal note.....The high school attendance called today and wanted to know why Landon wasn't at school today as he was marked absent. I informed them that he was there and would they please check and give me a call back. Yep! Got a call back as he was there. This happened once before when he was in middle school. Landon is dropped off at school every morning. He really is a great guy!

On a personal note.....had a birthday last week so I did take a few days off. The boys made me a chocolate lover's cake.......it was oh-my-gosh good! One of my gifts was a box of Anthony Thomas Mint Meltaways. I am pretty much half way through the box!

White Wedding - Brass Filigree Art Nouveau Necklace, Earrings - White Opal Glass

♥White Wedding♥

My heart really did guide me on this task! This white opal glass is displaying a subtle, inner glow that I can see depending on the light/angle. I think that you will love the beautiful contrast between the ornate, highly polished brass and the white opal glass. This necklace is also beaded all of the way to the repousse clasp. And of course the brass is nickel and lead free.

I have designed earrings for pierced ears to go with this necklace. I had the most incredibly happy feelings while designing this set!

Mo-Jo Is Not Taller Than I Am!

This picture gives you an idea of how big Mo-Jo is! My husband says he's taller than I am.....I don't think so? And yes, that window is full of doggie nose prints! I must have forgotten to clean it THAT DAY! LOL! He is such a sweet boy!

What am I Making Now?

This is really beautiful Czech button glass. The colors are incredible! I see blue, purple and green colors. Blue and purple just happen to be my most favorite colors!

The stones in these earrings are wrapped in filigree brass that I have hand oxidized and then meticulously polished. I use RENAISSANCE Microcrystalline WAX POLISH (except for the ear wires) to help protect the finish. They are nickel and lead free.

Happy Birthday Landon!

Well you are sixteen today! I am so very proud of you! We love you Landon Garrett!

Enjoy your chocolate cake with shavings of Andes Creme de Menthe Thins on Top! Yummy for you!

Here you are about 3 1/2 years ago when Mo-Jo was a pup. Look at those ears! Not you, you silly boy!

Mr. Mo-Jo in Motion

I found some pictures of Mr. Mo-Jo with his feet so not on the ground! He loved playing with Mr. Black and Blue Striped Snake (2nd pic)! But alas, Mr. Mo-Jo and Ms. Jazzy have pretty much laid to rest our collection of stuffed snakes. I will have to go out into the land of thrift and hunt some more. They are rare and hard to find! LOL....KAT

Expression

This is so very colorful and romantic. It is vintage style necklace that measures approximately 17" around. I just love it! The flower connectors look the same on the back as they do on the front. This brass is nickel and lead free.

On a personal note. We had a light dusting a snow again last night. The temp was in the single digits again! We will be warming up after Thursday. I saw that the high is predicted to be in in the 50's later in the week with possible rain showers! That's Ohio for you!
